Epic 20th Anniversary Blowout
The entire show was incredible! We sat under the stadium overhang to shield ourselves from the rain and stayed from 2 pm to past 12 am. The opening acts, especially Joan Jett, Heart & LL COOL J, were so impressive that we couldn't believe it. Heart amazed us with some legendary notes. We were in awe wishing they had performed "All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You" and "What About Love" (the rain interfered). We didn't follow Arcangel much, but the impressive performance made us glad we stayed. Dave was endearing with his stories and rocked out despite being confined to a special throne most of the time, walking out on crutches for a few songs. They even covered "Under Pressure," providing entertainment. Our very own stadium fireworks display capped the night.
The downsides were evident in the venue. Not being able to re-enter after leaving made for a long day. Drinks and food were expensive and hard to find. RFK was unprepared to serve food to the crowd鈥攚andering the stadium and waiting in line often led to finding out they were out of food. The unhelpful staff added to the frustration. Some vendors accepted cards while others only took cash, and the ATMs ran out of cash. Despite hearing about water stations, we only saw one for field ticket holders. Next time, we'll be better equipped and bring ear plugs for the loud volume.
